There are lots of benefits of professional voicemail messages, some of which I highlight in this blog post. Something I don't mention there is how they can make you stand out amongst your competitors.
 
If somebody is phoning round for a popular product or service, they're likely to hit on hold messages and voicemails. Who will they remember? The company whose phone sounded like it was recorded behind the bins round the back of the Co-Op? Or the one with a message that is clear and sounds like a member of staff you can be proud of?
