New meditation voice over demo reel

Sit down and close your eyes.

Actually, wait. Sit down, press play on this, then close your eyes. But don't forget to open them afterwards.

I do a short guided meditation every morning and although I'm supposed to concentrate on my breathing during it, sometimes I... think about stuff.

On this particular morning I was listening to the person in the app, as I do every day. But this time, I was listening to it as a voiceover and it simply made me think "you should make a demo for this sort of stuff".

As with all demo reels, the idea is to show range in a short amount of time. Initially I thought it might be a tough task.

Surely there's only one voice for meditation - slow and soothing!

But actually, it turned out not so tough after all. And that's one of the main points of voice over - not the voice itself, but what you can do with it.

Within this demo there's welcoming and friendly; warm and caring; natural and chilled; slow and soothing (of course!); soft and relaxed.

Yes, they're all closely tied together and the end goal may be the same - to guide someone through a meditation - but there's more than one way to skin a cat, as they say (well, the cat skinners do).
